Arrest Made for Vehicle B&E
On November 2nd, 2007, at 11:20 PM, Amherst Officers responded to the area of Brandywine Apartments, on Meadow Street, for a report of several males looking into and entering vehicles. Amherst Detectives Foster and Ting were already in the area and responded on foot. They observed 4 males acting suspiciously and looking into vehicles. After monitoring their activity, they observed one male enter a vehicle and search through its interior. Knowing that there has been a rash of vehicle break-ins occurring over the past 3 weeks in the apartment complexes in North Amherst, Detectives Foster and Ting approached this individual and questioned him. After an investigation, they placed Victor A. Ramos, 20, of 104 Seymour Ave., Springfield, MA, under arrest. Ramos had 3 outstanding warrants for his arrest, and he is also being charged with Breaking and Entering in the Night and Receiving Stolen Property Valued at Under $250.00. Detectives are investigating possible connections between this incident and several other apartment breaks that occurred during this time frame.
