Assault at Monkey Bar

In the early-morning hours of November 1st, 2007, Amherst Police Officers Batchelor, Matuszko, Jackson and Russell responded to the Monkey Bar, at 374 North Pleasant St., for a report of a fight in-progress. Upon arrival, Officer Batchelor found that the victim, an employee of the Monkey Bar, had been struck over the head with a beer bottle and had sustained a severe laceration. A witness from the scene reported that the suspect threatened using a gun. Officers did not locate a gun on any of the involved parties. After an investigation, Frank N. Dagostino, 25, of 21 Wendell Pl., Springfield, MA, was placed under arrest and is being charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
